Site visit to Pulau Indah

This is one of the main road in Pulau Indah.

First time to Pulau Indah with friends and lecturer by car.It is a rural area.
It is an island off the west coast of Selangor,Malaysia. It is very different compare to Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. There is no high-rise building and it has more greeneries. Most of the houses there are made of wood/timber.There is also some modern houses but not too many.

A small wooden bridge in Pulau Indah village

This is the traditional Malay house.

Traditionally materials such as timber, bamboo, atap, zinc roof, rattan were used to construct it. The house has at least two entrances. The main entrance at the front always been used by visitors and males but entrance at the back one mostly used by women and children.

The raised houses provided ventilation from below and thus keeping the house comfortable. This Malay house was built on stilts raised above the ground to keep animals and floods away as to survive in the Malaysian Jungle.

All the students were inside the house of Miss Ida.
